If you need a break from the standard dinner-and-a-movie date night, getting active can be a fun way to spend quality time with your love. A Sporty date presents the perfect opportunity to get to know your partner on a deeper level in a less formal setting. In addition to being good for health, studies show being active can also have a positive impact on your sex life.
Find Your Inner Lumberjack
One of the newest and our most popular date night request is to go throw axes. As intimidating as it sounds, with a safety briefing and lesson you will find your inner lumberjack or jill in no time. If you're still unsure you can head over to Thunderdome and try the safe axe throwing first.
The city of Calgary offers various outdoor skating opportunities once the temperature starts to drop. Until then you can enjoy indoor skating at the below venues around the city:

Whether you’re someone who has enjoyed archery or bow hunting for years or someone who is just taking an active interest in the sport, The Calgary Archery Centre offers rentals and lessons for your date night out. If you're looking for something a little less serious we suggest checking out Combat Archery with Thunderdome.
Fly Through the Sky
You and the instructor can glide effortless in slow serene flight, quietly passing by clouds, consumed by the beauty of the horizon. Or double down on adrenaline, pitching and rolling in an aggressive dive and feel the g-force build as you rotate and spiral toward the ground.

If you ever wanted to smash that printer at the office, now is your chance to take out that frustration in a Rage Room for a smashing good time. The room you book comes furnished with objects ready for you to smash and destroy with no worries about the clean-up or you can bring your own items to destroy.
Follow the Path
There is no better way to experience nature than by bike. Kick summer into gear on one of the many bike pathways available in the city. Are you missing the right gear? Don’t fear. Bike rentals are available at Bow Cycle & Sports as well at the University of Calgary Outdoor Centre.

Feel the cool breeze as you glide down the hill and enjoy the city view. Opening in December of each year the Acura Tube Park is one of the largest and fastest of its kind. Winsport boasts 12 lanes, a four-person tube option, and a dedicated magic carpet means you don't have to worry about climbing back up to the top of the hill like you did when you were a kid. A special village including food, a deck with heaters, a fire pit, and washrooms have also been added!
